]]> Several Indian industry stalwarts and senior officials of the Indian government gathered at India Electronics Week(IEW) 2017 in Bengaluru to celebrate the achievements of India’s electronics industry. The three-day mega event, conducted by the EFY Group and supported by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), was attended by senior delegates from the electronics industry and witnessed packed halls. Eminent speakers participated in the IEW 2017 event and talked about how the Internet of Things (IoT) would enhance the future of electronics manufacturing. Experts including Ravi Ramaswamy, head, health systems, Philips; and Avinash Kaushik, founder, Revvx IoT Accelerator, discussed strategies and case studies that helped businesses gain maximum profit through their IoT products and solutions.

They focused on revenue models and funding scenarios that suit IoT-based companies. They also discussed how to reduce the cost of IoT products and follow best practices to obtain maximum benefits within the industry. Vikram Desai, president of ELCINA and MD, Desai Electronics, and Sreeram Srinivasan, CEO, Syrma Technologies Pvt Ltd, discussed the importance of value addition in electronics manufacturing. S.K. Marwaha, senior director, MeitY, along with Sunil Kumar Barnwal, IAS (secretary to the CM, secretary, IT & E-governance, and secretary, industries, mines and geology, Jharkhand) and Deepthi Ravula, joint director (electronics and semiconductors), Telangana explained how the government is going to facilitate value addition in electronics manufacturing through different initiatives.

Vasu, director, Tandon Group; Dr. Ravi Bhatkal, MD, Alpha & MacDermid Performance Solutions India; Neeraj Pandita, senior director, sales and marketing, ISOLA Asia Pacific (Hong Kong); Vinod Chippalkatti, VP-CEBU, Centum Electronics Ltd; and Biswapriya Bhattacharjee, VP, IMRB Technologies spoke on market growth and the demand drivers for the Indian electronics manufacturing industry. Vijay Kumar Gupta, MD, Kwality Photonics Pvt Ltd; N.K. Mohapatra, CEO, ESSCI; Anil Kumar Muniswamy, MD, SLN Technologies Pvt Ltd; and Hari Krishnan Puravankara, founder CEO, BlackPepper Technologies Pvt Ltd, explained how advanced manufacturing practices and Industry 4.0 technologies are going to enhance value addition in electronics manufacturing.
